DIANA CHEW
Healed of Smoking Addiction

My father was a heavy smoker, so I believed since I was little that smoking must be good and fun. My brother and I would often steal his cigarettes and hide in the bathroom to “smoke”. We thought it was really cool.

When my father left us, my mother had to work to support the family, so we were left alone most of the time. That was the beginning of my troubled teenage years. I started smoking secretly at first at about 13, then taking drugs, alcohol, and going to parties.

Praise the Lord, my brother started telling me about God. I received the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues and got myself baptised.

I realised that I didn’t have to smoke anymore to feel good; I have Jesus in my life! I decided to throw all my cigarettes and lighters away. Since then, I haven’t had any withdrawal symptoms. That was 21 years ago and I am now a happy wife and mother in the Lord.
